Sue Dempsey started First Fridays in 2004 by asking a group of 12 women to meet for lunch. Her vision was a networking group focused on independent freelancers rather than agencies or corporate marketing folks.
 
Today, over 100 women have been members of the group, and many of the original members (lovingly known as the OGs) continue to attend every month.
